26 September - 10 October, 2010 Our route starts in Cleveland, Queensland and heads through the Gold Coast onto a grueling stretch across the Great Dividing Range from Casino to Tenterfield, New South Wales. We eventually turn and head south to Tamworth where we have our first rest day. From Tamworth we continue south until we come to Bathurst for another rest day. This is well needed as the 195 kilometre stretch from Bathurst to Goulburn is a real test for any cyclist, weaving across numerous mountains, mostly ascending. Entering Canberra is a breeze as it slowly descends for the final 100 kilometre stretch. Here celebrations begin at the end of a challenging journey!
